In a time when both public and private research grants have markedly decreased for early career researchers, the American College of Cardiology Foundation's (ACCF’s) award program continues to show a significant increase each year.
The 2013 American College of Cardiology (ACC)/ACCF awards program will present awards to support the training and development of young cardiovascular investigators. In 2011, ACCF will offer several awards, including research awards to help foster the research of young cardiovascular investigators; travel awards that reimburse expenses for attending the ACC Annual Scientific Session and annual Legislative Conference to expose specific member groups to valuable education and growth opportunities; and distinguished awards that honor individuals for significant advances/contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine.
ACCF Distinguished and Research Awardees will be announced in early February 2013. All awardees will be honored at the Annual Convocation Ceremony of the College in March 2013.
The ACC Distinguished Awards were established to recognize outstanding individuals making contributions to the cardiovascular profession. Among these distinguished awards are early career distinguished awards, mid-to-late career distinguished awards and the honorable Master of the American College of Cardiology award.
The ACCF Research Fellowship Awards Committee invites cardiovascular professionals, ranging from those currently enrolled in accredited training programs to those in their early career years, to apply for awards in a variety of research topics . Please note that, as necessary, ad hoc reviewers will be appointed in those instances requiring expertise beyond the realm of the committee.
The ACC Foundation invites applications for travel awards to ACC.13 and meetings throughout the year.
