Fellow (FACC) Requirements for Clinicians:- Have completed cardiovascular training
- Be established and recognized in their communities
- Demonstrate that 75% of current practice is related to cardiovascular medicine
- Have a current medical license in the country where practicing
- Present two letters of sponsorship
Additional requirements include one or more of the following: - Author on 10 articles with 5 as first or senior authored published in cardiovascular peer reviewed journals
OR - Full time academic appointment as Associate Professor or Professor OR
- Leadership role as chief of a cardiovascular division OR
- Sufficient evidence of leadership activity in community or hospital CV programs and continuing education
Fellow (FACC) Requirements for Academic/ScientistThe candidate who is applying through the academic/science track shall devote at least 75% of professional activities to CV research and have made significant contributions to the scientific literature published in cardiovascular related peer reviewed journals. A candidate with a Ph.D. needs 20 articles with 10 as first or senior authorship published in cardiovascular peer reviewed journals. A candidate without a Ph.D. needs 50 articles with 20 first or senior authorship published in cardiovascular peer reviewed journals.
Fellow (FACC) Requirements for Other Cardiovascular Related SubspecialtiesThe candidate in other cardiovascular (CV) related subspecialties such as hypertension, CV pathology, CV radiology, CV anesthesiology, vascular surgery, vascular medicine, and nuclear cardiology shall have the required training; have 10 articles in major peer reviewed journals with 5 as first authorship; or has a leadership role as chief of cardiology or associate professor or professor. International Associate MembershipThis membership is offered to those cardiovascular specialists who wish to access ACC’s outstanding member benefits but who are not interested in applying for Fellowship or have not yet met the criteria required for Fellowship. Criteria for International Associate Membership:- The candidate has completed medical professional education and training that is customary and recognized in the country.
- The candidate has relevant licensure or certification for medical practice in the country.
- The candidate has current membership in a recognized medical society in the country or provides one letter of sponsorship from any physician member of the ACC.
OR - Has academic or research standing and appointment at a recognized institution.
