Science and Quality
The ACC is leading the way in defining care for the cardiovascular community and patients. The College is proud of its efforts to bring evidence-based clinical care into everyday practice and has invested millions in the development of
guidelines,
Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC), decision support and
health IT resources, and measurement and benchmarking tools like the
National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR®). The ACC has also launched several national
quality initiatives focused on reducing cardiovascular-related hospital readmissions, encouraging appropriate use of imaging technologies and improving door-to-balloon times in hospitals.
