Overview

Through this Meeting on Demand™ Program, Dr. Massie reviews a systematic approach to the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HF-PEF), focusing on recent clinical trials in this population and the implications for management. Nearly one-half of patients with HF have preserved LVEF. Patients with HF-PEF comprise a heterogeneous group with comparable rates of morbidity, mortality, and functional decline to those with HF and reduced EF, but few evidence-based therapies are available that consistently improve clinical outcomes in this population.
