COURSE OVERVIEW/STATEMENT OF NEED
Maximize your time in Dallas with this optional course, Interventional Cardiology Updates 2011 and 2012.
To demonstrate a public commitment to remain highly skilled and knowledgeable throughout their careers, medical professionals must satisfy the evolving requirements for Board Certification and Maintenance of Certification (MOC). The American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), in collaboration with ABIM, will help physicians meet those certification and recertification needs while earning 20 knowledge points towards ABIM’s Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge requirement.
ABIM-certified, expert physicians will join fellow participants to discuss and identify the most appropriate answers to 50 case-based ABIM questions. During the session, an audience response system will allow participants to anonymously compare answers to those of the experts and their peers.
Learner Objectives
The goal of this course is to prepare physicians for certification or recertification by enhancing competency in interventional cardiology.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Earn a total of 20 MOC points and satisfy the ABIM’s Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge requirement for Maintenance of Certification
- Identify new diagnostic testing options
- Describe new therapeutic options
- Discuss new clinical decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment of patient problems
- Compare and contrast differences in diagnostic and treatment options for common and unusual problems in the discipline

The ACCF Study Session for Maintenance of Certification for Interventional Cardiology Updates 2011 and 2012 will facilitate completion of a medical knowledge module by ABIM-certified physicians for Maintenance of Certification credit in an interactive group setting with educational support. - Register with ACCF to take the ABIM Learning Session by clicking here.
- ACCF will provide you with a “Learner’s Copy” of the ABIM Module Interventional Cardiology Updates 2011 and 2012 at the session on August 16, 2012.
- In addition to the learner’s copy you will receive at the session, you must order an “Official” copy of the knowledge module(s) directly from ABIM. Modules can be ordered by physicians enrolled in MOC at no additional charge via your password-protected “Home Page” in the “Physician Login” of www.abim.org.

Cancellation, substitution or transfer to another course is allowed if written notification is received four weeks before a scheduled course. A full refund minus a $250 processing fee will be given for written notifications received fewer than four weeks before the first day of the course. No refund will be given for no-shows. In the unlikely event that the course is canceled, the College will refund the registration tuition in full but is not responsible for any travel or hotel costs you may incur. ACCF reserves the right to cancel courses in the unlikely event of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a course is canceled or postponed, ACCF will refund registration tuition but cannot be held responsible for other costs or expenses, including cancellation/change penalties assessed by airlines, travel agencies or hotels.
