COURSE OVERVIEW/STATEMENT OF NEED
Maximize your time in Dallas with this optional course, Interventional Cardiology Updates 2011 and 2012.
To demonstrate a public commitment to remain highly skilled and knowledgeable throughout their careers, medical professionals must satisfy the evolving requirements for Board Certification and Maintenance of Certification (MOC). The American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), in collaboration with ABIM, will help physicians meet those certification and recertification needs while earning 20 knowledge points towards ABIM’s Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge requirement.
ABIM-certified, expert physicians will join fellow participants to discuss and identify the most appropriate answers to 50 case-based ABIM questions. During the session, an audience response system will allow participants to anonymously compare answers to those of the experts and their peers.
Learner Objectives The goal of this course is to prepare physicians for certification or recertification by enhancing competency in interventional cardiology.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Earn a total of 20 MOC points and satisfy the ABIM’s Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge requirement for Maintenance of Certification
- Identify new diagnostic testing options
- Describe new therapeutic options
- Discuss new clinical decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment of patient problems
- Compare and contrast differences in diagnostic and treatment options for common and unusual problems in the discipline

If you order before coming the session on you may bring your module and laptop with you. If you are not enrolled in the ABIM Maintenance of Certification Program you may attend the learning session; however you must enroll in the Maintenance of Certification program to order you module from ABIM and to be eligible to receive Maintenance of Certification credit for completing the module.
