COURSE OVERVIEW/STATEMENT OF NEED
As the number of cardiologists decrease, the role of the cardiology care team has become more critical than ever. Educational programs that offer clinical competencies in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease are essential for practitioners.
Now in its fifth year, the successful Core Curriculum for the Cardiovascular Clinician continues to provide clinicians with best practices in diagnosing and managing patients with cardiovascular interventions. This interactive three-day conference allows participants to engage in stimulating discussions with expert faculty through case- and evidence-based vignettes designed to enhance clinical skills. Topics include in-depth course review and workshops on the examination of the cardiac patient, risk reduction, echocardiography, ECT interpretation, device diagnostics, imaging, acute coronary syndrome, heart sounds, valvular heart disease, pharmacology, post-operative care, metabolic syndrome, atrial fibrillation and others. The American College of Cardiology Foundation provides the tools needed for every member of the cardiac care team to hone their skills and stay abreast of the latest advances in cardiovascular care.
Learner Objectives The overall goal of this course is to enhance the competency and performance of cardiovascular clinicians and practitioners by covering the latest updates and developments in cardiovascular disease and methods to incorporate this knowledge into the practice setting.
