The Convergence of Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease initiative uses Cardiosource.org/DIABETES as its on-line portal, which is designed to facilitate your participation in a wide variety of serial educational opportunities ranging from those designed specifically to address the special needs of fellows in training — to programs which help you assess your current practice gaps and then guide you to activities that address your specific learning needs and preferences.  The Convergence of Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease initiative encompasses novel continuing education models in both live and on-line formats, using strategies that include a variety of educational interventions.

Cardiosource.org/DIABETES

Cardiosource, ACCF's digital education portal, serves as the primary distribution portal for the Convergence of Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease e-learning opportunities, including:

Virtual Clinics

In the first virtual case, learners have the opportunity, with input from leading clinical experts, to work-up and manage a virtual patient, David, who presents "today" for a visit after recently suffering a NSTEMI. During this initial virtual visit, learners will be able to assess their current knowledge, prioritize work up options, review peer-to-peer evidence-based debate on specific management issues that relate to this visit, and plan your course of action for future virtual visits with David.

Live Programs

ACCF is offering a series of live meetings that encompass both challenging case discussion and debate, and employ vigorous audience interaction. Each program features expert faculty who will examine the clear correlation between coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes and the most recent developments in this dynamic field. Offered throughout the year in a variety of locations, these programs will provide vigorous interaction, debate, and case-based learning.
