Earn 40 Points Toward the ABIM’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program
If you’re among the many physicians enrolled in the ABIM’s MOC program, you have to earn a combined 100 points in medical knowledge and practice improvement throughout your 10 year certificate period. ACC wants to help you with this process. To that end, CardioQuestions: General Cardiology purchasers can earn up to 40 points in medical knowledge.
CardioQuestions: General Cardiology features two Practice Exams each of which offers 20 medical knowledge points.
Please note that claiming points for MOC is a separate process from claiming CME credit. To receive points toward MOC, please follow the instructions below.
To receive points toward MOC from CardioQuestions, you must:
- Be enrolled in the MOC program with the ABIM.
- Use the online version of CardioQuestions. The online version is available to all purchasers of CardioQuestions and ACCSAP 7– simply click the Start Program button below the CardioQuestions icon in the upper right of this page. If you don’t see the Start Program button, please login to the site. If you don’t know your username and password, please contact ACC’s resource center at 800-253-4636, x5603.
- Complete all 50 questions in CardioQuestions' Practice Exam 1, which offers 20 points toward MOC in the category of Medical Knowledge. Once you have answered all 50 questions, a Claim MOC link will appear at the top of the screen. If this link does not appear, it is likely that you may have skipped a question or two. Review the list of questions on the left side of the screen to find any you may have missed and answer them. Then click the Claim MOC link and follow the instructions to transmit your data electronically to the ABIM. To verify that the ABIM received your data, visit their website (www.abim.org) and login to access your personal MOC status information.
- Complete all 50 questions in CardioQuestions' Practice Exam 2, which offers 20 points toward MOC and follow the steps outlined in #3 above.
