Learner Objectives
Two global goals for iScience communicate a commitment by the College to provide needs-based education that is independent of commercial interests and fosters changes in target audience knowledge, competence and performance to ultimately improve patient outcomes.
-
Knowledge—to disseminate knowledge of optimal cardiovascular care, cardiovascular disease prevention and improvements in cardiovascular patient outcomes.
-
Competence—to foster the translation of evidence-based cardiovascular science and interventional concepts and techniques into daily clinical practice.
Target Audience
iScience is intended for all professionals involved in delivering cardiovascular care, with particular emphasis on physicians, scientists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists and practice administrators. Medical students and trainees, technicians, dietitians and other health care professionals also will benefit.
Content captured from the i2 Summit 2010 is intended for interventional cardiologists and radiologists, general cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, vascular specialists, scientists and clinical trialists. While much of the program content is specially geared to the worldwide community of interventional physicians and scientists, other health care professionals including medical students and trainees, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and technicians will also benefit from the depth and diversity of the program.
