About CCA Membership in the ACC
Nurtured by the College's team-based approach to cardiovascular care, the Cardiac Care Associate membership group has had exceptional growth, reaching over 4,200 members since their inception in 2003. The CCAs are comprised of professional types including Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists and Physician Assistants. Since 2003 when this member group was formed, CCAs serve not only on their own committee, but also on over 30 standing ACC Committees including, but not limited to: publications, continuing education, cardiac catheterization and intervention committee, accreditation steering committee, and the heart failure and transplant committee. Coming soon: The ACC will invite Nurses, Physician Assistants and Clinical Pharmacists practicing outside of the U.S. to join the ACC as Cardiac Care Associate members. Extending international membership to additional members of the care team reflects the team-based care model used in hospitals both domestically and internationally, and brings all members of the cardiovascular care team to the table for important discussions that affect the quality of care we give our patients. More information will be coming soon on the new category. Stay tuned to the International Center and this page for more information. Click here to access the CVT Section Work Group Community pages
